Summer in Ukraine: July/August Update
Our team completed an assessment and report on Ukrainian Orthopedic Hospitals for Zimmer Biomet to ensure their incredible donation goes to the best hospitals for treating orthopedic injuries for civilians and military personnel.

Recent Flooding and Dam Collapse
This past week, our ground teams delivered 6 brand-new 4 millimeter aluminum hard-bottom boats, 5 HP motors and life-jackets to DSNS, Ukraine’s State Emergency Services in Kherson. The equipment is providing life-saving support as people continue to be evacuated from flooded areas and recovery efforts are underway. Because of our strategic presence across the country, our warehouse and shipping team was able to rapidly respond after the Kakhovka dam emergency. We quickly procure the necessary boats, requiring fast transport and delivering them in less than 72 hours from the time of the emergency request. These boats immediately went into the water for use in rescue and recovery and we even received reports from 4 families that were rescued that same day.

Emergency Blast: Rescuing those Impacted by the Kakhovka Dam Disaster
This week, the Foundation’s teams rapidly deployed and are already on the ground, providing initial response to the humanitarian consequences of the June 6th destruction of the Nova Khakovka hydro-electric dam in Kherson, Ukraine. We need your help to supply rescue and recovery efforts with the right equipment: hard-bottom boats, boat engines, oars, and life jackets. Each rescue boat costs about $USD 3200.

May's Mission
The remains of U.S. Marine veteran who was missing for over a year in Ukraine returned to the United States on Friday, May 19, 2023. The Romulus T. Weatherman Team worked tirelessly to locate and bring Marine Captain Grady Kurpasi home. Kurpasi, 50-year-old Iraq War veteran, volunteered in February 2022 to help evacuate Ukrainian residents and later fought in the Ukrainian Foreign Legion.

April Newsletter
Thank you to SOS Attitude for their generous French donors for sending the first of three shipments of generators to support hospitals and clinics across Southern and Eastern cities in Ukraine. With the help of SOS Attitude, we can continue our mission of pushing aid to where it is most needed. One 40 Kilowatt generator was delivered to a medical clinic in Mykolaiv that desperately needed it. The crew of doctors and nurses were relieved and grateful to have a consistent power supply.

Women's History Month Comes to an End
As Women’s History Month comes to a close, we recognize that women and girls are critical actors in all efforts to achieve sustainable peace, strong democracies and well-rounded security. Our team has been working with incredible women to help aid Ukraine in the fight against Russia. These women from Ukraine lead efforts across government, humanitarian, and human rights sectors.

Kicking Off Women's History Month in DC!

Important Update: A Successful Shipment
Important Update: A Successful Shipment We had a big victory yesterday, shipping 52 pallets of medicine, bandages, food, and more out through Poltova to Kramatorsk and around Bakmut. These cities are desperate for help as they hold off an intense Russian offensive and fight for their lives. Our team heard about the dire need and immediately rushed a deliver, lining up another truck for next week — continuing our mission of getting it to the people that need it the most. Below is a photo of the hub where our next shipment will be distributed. Because of your support and our expanding network of delivery partners, they can continue fighting for a free and democratic Ukraine!

One Year of War in Ukraine: Resilience Amidst Crisis
One year ago, on February 24, 2022, tragedy struck Ukraine. With the support of many of you, we have been able to provide relief, safe passage, and haven to those who need it most. Since the escalation of conflict in 2022, the Weatherman Foundation has reached millions of people in Ukraine and neighboring countries.

A New Offensive Begins & We Press On With Support for Ukraine!
Eastern Ukrainian cities, like Bakhmut (pictured above), and its resident’s have become a picture of Ukraine’s resilience since the latest offensive began. Moscow’s forces escalate attacks on the Donbas region daily, hoping for a victory to coincide with the Feb. 24 anniversary of the 2022 invasion. But we continue to send aid and generators as far east as possible, supporting the efforts of those who hold the line - and providing life-saving basics those who cannot leave.

URGENT: As back-to-back earthquakes hit Turkey and Syria, our team sends immediate aid!
Two back–to–back earthquakes at the Turkish–Syrian border: more than 5,000 dead after 7.8 and 7.5–magnitude quakes, with numbers expected to rise. Our team is responding!

On the Frontlines With General Kellogg
Over the last two weeks, our ground team, along with Foundation President and Vice President Meaghan Mobbs and Robert McCreary, hosted Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg across Ukraine. Because of our notable presence in hard-to-reach areas, Lt. General Kellogg was able to travel with us from Odessa to Kharkiv and as far east as Izyum. Along the way, we met with government and military officials, visited frontlines hospitals and shelters, and provided a general situational awareness of human rights abuses and overall impact of the war on everyday Ukrainians.

Delivering Hope in 2023
Though less than a peaceful new year in Ukraine, we’re kicking off 2023 with high-impact deliveries and thought-leadership events to support those who need it most!

2022 In Review: A Look Back On How You’ve Helped Save Lives This Year!
The Weatherman Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine since the start of the war in 2022. The foundation has established a humanitarian logistics hub on the Ukraine/Romania border, which has delivered over 2,000 tons of food, medicine, and other aid to Ukraine. The foundation has also provided policy advice to the Romanian, Ukrainian, and U.S. governments, and has worked with the Archdiocese of Przemyśl in Poland to support refugees. Bringing hope in the darkness this holiday season!
This webpage is about a research paper that explores the effects of light pollution on the environment and human health. The paper discusses the negative impacts of artificial light on wildlife, including disruption of migration patterns and breeding cycles. It also highlights the health risks associated with exposure to artificial light at night, such as sleep disorders and increased risk of cancer. The paper suggests several solutions to reduce light pollution, including using energy-efficient lighting and implementing lighting regulations. The goal of the research is to raise awareness about the issue of light pollution and encourage individuals and communities to take action to reduce its harmful effects.
